Erika Zorrilla Muñoz is a Mexican painter born in Tampico, Tamaulipas on July 21, 1976, where she lived the first two years. She later moved to the city of Puebla and has currently resided in Mexico City since 2003. She holds a degree in Architecture from Universidad Iberoamericana in Puebla City and has worked professionally since 2000. Her passion for art began during her teenage years as a self-taught artist, later refining her skills through workshops in photography, painting, and drawing. Over the years she has participated in over 30 exhibitions, both in Mexico and internationally. Notably, in 2021, she was chosen to represent Mexico at the 18th International AAmA Exhibition at the Qingdao Art Museum in China, where she received an award for her multicultural contributions. Zorrilla´s work is multidisciplinary, encompassing various techniques in painting, and drawing, as well as collage, photography, textile art and sculpture. In her creations, one can appreciate a constant dialogue with nature, color, and sensuality.
